Amanda Taylor, M.S., Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

“Vulnerability is not knowing victory or defeat; it’s understanding the necessity of both; it’s engaging. It’s being all in.”- Brené Brown

Counseling Approach

I believe that the great thing about therapy is that people have room to grow, adults and children alike. I facilitate a therapeutic environment and a safe space for my clients to discuss both their struggles and their victories as they establish healthy boundaries while coping with life’s challenges. My counseling approach is guided by person-centered counseling. I focus on building rapport and establishing a therapeutic relationship with my clients while being original and authentic in my counseling process. Overall, utilizing empathy and unconditional positive regard to provide hope and support when it is needed most.

Amanda graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Child Development. Upon graduation she worked at the Naval Support Activity Mid-South fostering the growth and development of young minds while supporting military personnel and their families. While working with children and their families and volunteering at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Amanda was eager to continue her education so that she could be an advocate for children in her community. She then went on to receive a Master of Science Degree from the University of Memphis with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) program.

Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor, certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc.
