Counseling Approach

I believe that anyone can move towards healing as long as they are willing to take the first step.  Everyone deserves a space to focus on their own growth no matter what the issue may be and the counseling room I strive to provide unconditional support as we work together. I utilize an Adlerian approach in counseling and believe in collaborating with you in order to best support your journey towards creating the life you want.

Education

Marjorie graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Psychology. Upon graduation she worked for a mentoring program for high-risk adolescents, providing support and growth opportunities even in the face of stressful environments and events. This position encouraged her to seek out different ways to attend to the socio-emotional needs of people from diverse backgrounds with more intentionality. She then went on to receive her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas. While in school, Marjorie worked with a variety of client issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction.

Experience 

Marjorie worked for the Center for Play Therapy and gained experience in child centered play therapy as well as child parent relationship training. She also specialize in adolescent counseling, young adults, group counseling, diversity issues, and working through transitional periods. Ms. Brown has worked in various settings including private practice, domestic violence, rehabilitation, and the school setting.
